Great compost bin Fairwood on 24 June 2021

Easy to put together. Solid for price

looked everywhere for this Sussex gardener on 15 June 2021

Took approx 15 mins to assemble. I'd spent ages trying to find something this simple and robust. And affordable! I have two 605 litre bins. Really satisfying after a couple of years of piling material between saggy pallets and old posts that were not really doing the job. Now I've got a contained compost heap warming up nicely. And it looks good.

Excellent in every way Anna on 2 February 2021

Ask A Question

Q & A

Q: I assume the compost bin is bottomless. Is it best to site it on open earth or on a stone or concrete base?
A: The advantage of placing it on open earth is that it allows earthworms to access and enrich the soil.
Q: Once assembled, is it possible to easily remove the front slats to access the compost, or is it rigid.
A: That one is rigid, in which case, you will have to lift it and move out of the way or remove the slats form the top and use a spade to dig it out.to access the compost.
Q: Can this be assembled gradually as needed. Does the measurement include the external timber ends that stick out?
A: There is no reason why you cannot build this gradually as it slots in on top of each other, and yes the dimensions include the ends
