The same Greenworks battery fits all tools in the same voltage range. For extra convenience, with two batteries you can do all the work using one while charging a second. Batteries come in 2Ah or 4Ah versions - the 4Ah versions last twice as long on a single charge (but are larger and heavier).

Great replacement for my petrol mower Neo on 27 May 2020

Pleased with the purchase. Mower is just as effective as petrol mower for my large lawn. Batteries charge quickly. Indicators are helpful to show how much charge remaining. Pleased I went for 2 batteries. Lawn is large, with some awkward bits around trees and bushes. A cut on dry grass needs one full battery plus half of the other one. Like the fact that batteries could potentially be used on other tools in the range. Easy to put together, is intuitive, which is good as instruction booklet not the clearest. Mowing height adjusts easily. Lowest setting is just about short enough for our preference. Handle unscrews to fold away for storage - one improvement would be a quicker folding system, but it is OK. Grass collector is reasonable size and flattens down; will need to store carefully as it is mesh not solid plastic. Much lighter to use and lift than my old petrol mower. Overall great value. Three year warranty and no need for 70 annual service like my previous petrol mower. Lighter and easier to manoeuvre and quieter. Would recommend, but only with two batteries if you have larger lawn as each lasts about 20 minutes.

The grassed area in our garden is 125 long and between 20-30 wide. We had a smaller cabled mower that was irritating to use, with trailing cables. We didn't want a petrol mower as they are noisy, smelly and polluting. We chose this one because it has two batteries. It is light enough to push, and sturdy enough for me to think it will last. The small amount of assembly required is easy to do and the charger is intuitive. The handles can be unclipped to fold away for storage. The batteries have an indicator of the life left, which is very useful. They charged in no time at all. I believe that they can be used on other GW kit as well, so having two is a real bonus. I gave the grass a winter trim with the blades set on level four. It did a good job and took less than half the time our old mower would take. The wider cutting area helps, but the ease of use is also a major factor. No cables to watch out for or to twirl out of the way! The grass catcher is also a good size. I emptied it four times. It coped well with the still slightly damp grass. The cutting base doesn't seem to collect grass like our old one did, so that also made things quicker as it didn't get clogged. No cables to wind after either. The trim took only half the life of one battery, so I am confident that it will do for a fun spring/summer cut, even if I go over it twice on two levels. Now used it a few times and still very pleased with it. Easy to use and does the job very quickly and reasonably quietly. The ease of use is encouraging me to cut the grass more often and seems far less of a chore.
