Inspired by the iconic whalebone arch on Whitby’s seafront, this new Whitby Arch will add a beautiful focal point in any garden.

The thick section rails are perfect for training climbing plants, and combined with the dramatic extended arch can create a shaded area in the garden. All the timber used for the Whitby Arch has a smooth planed finish and is pressure treated with a preservative to protect it against rot for 15 years. The arch features posts with an extended curved section that can only be achieved using carefully cut and laminated timber. The posts are linked with thick section rails and cross at the top to create a graceful and unique garden structure.

Lovely addition to the garden John Rhodes on 15 February 2020

The finished product is a graceful form which leads the eye through to the green paces beyond. Nice quality and good value. Regarding assembly - it's much better to fully assemble the Whitby arch before cementing into place. Cementing in the lower section before adding the top would be much more difficult and chancey in my view.

great addition to the garden Simon on 16 April 2019

This arch was easy to assemble, guided by the basic but clear instructions, the cross members can be a bit fiddly, but are still quite straightforward, once you get the knack. Use of a wooden or soft head mallet is a must. A powered screw driver helps as there are quite a lot of long screws to put in place. The arch does really need two to move it around whilst locating in the garden. We built it first in sections, moved them to close to the location in the garden, assembled the whole arch and then placed in the exact spot, dug out the location holes and then set in concrete. As pressure treated it is currently a bit yellow but will fade to a nicer silver over time. Set in Postcrete concrete, it seems very stable and strong and should last a long time.
